Clips Export

Hello is it only possible to export clips (regions) from the timeline in Vegas Pro?

I have Vegas Movie Studio Platinum and would love to send my AVCHD clips to mov as clips and not a contiguous stream on one movie file.

With regards

Jeff

Hi Jeff
Use the little yellow triangles at the top of your timeline to select the clip/region you want. Go to Project/Render As. Tick the little "render loop region only" box.

Thanks for the response

Hello Rainer - thanks for the response.

Is this is a manual process for each region? Or will it do each one in turn?

For example if you select the whole timeline and then 'render loop region' does it do all clips one at a time, or just the first one?

I am at work so cannot try it - will try tonight as you suggested.

With regards

Jeff

Jeff, if you selected the entire timeline, it would get rendered as a single clip.
Assuming you're referring to Vegas Pro here, you can take advantage of a fantastic feature called scripting.
Double-click each event on the timeline and press R to create a region for it.
Once this is done, go Tools - Scripting - Batch Render.
Select a base file name and location, output format and, most importantly, the "Render Regions" option.
Press OK and each region will now be automatically rendered according to your specifications.

Vegas version

Hello Mike thanks for the response. No unfortunately it's movie studio platinum. I only use this to get the clips into Avid and I didn't want to fork out for the more expensive software.

Thanks for the help - I understand I have two options - the whole timeline and re-cut once in Xpress Pro. Or lots of coffee and do them one at a time.

Its a shame as a batch export will be more time efficient.

Regards

Jeff
