Vegas multicam problem
Got a new HP I7/860-Windows 7 machine last week. Took advantage of the Sony offer and got V9 64 bit upgrade. Opened a project created with 8.0c on XP 32 bit (6 HDV video tracks, 1 audio). Project loads. After about 30 seconds, multicam feeds freeze. The cursor continues to move along the timeline and I can hear the audio. Program says "Not Responding". Called Sony support (free with the upgrade). They have recreated my project and find that the problem does exist (i called Christmas eve morning and had a reply 4 hours later). They are still looking into it.
Uninstalled V9. Installed V8.0c. I can edit for a few minutes then the same thing happens. However, if I wait 2 minutes, the program re-engages and I can edit for another few minutes. Any ideas? DVDA5 is rendering so fast compared to old machine and burning Blu-ray without problems. I'm a hobbyist who started doing this about 4 years ago. I'd just like to thank all the regular posters for their invaluable info. |

I would try to disable any antivirus, anti-spyware and/or firewall software. I had a similiar problem with Avast! antivirus. I´m not using Vegas, but my applications were behaving pretty much the same way.
