vegas slow to respond when switching back from another app
When I switch from another application back to Vegas it takes 5 to 10 seconds for Vegas to respond again. Do others experience this? Solutions?
I'm using Vegas Pro 9c on a dual quad processor 64 bit vista workstation with 8 gig of ram. 32 and 64 bit versions of vegas behave the same way. The project is 26 minutes long, There is still plenty of ram available as well, so the paging file is not in play according to task manager. The length of time it takes to re-respond appears directly related to the amount of material on the time line. Thanks. |

Normal from what I can tell. Not saying it's ideal... just normal.

Under Options - Preferences there's an option that reads: "Close media files when not the active application". When this is checked, you can get the response you're seeing as each file will be closed and then reopened when you come back to Vegas. You can uncheck this and it will speed up coming back to Vegas but you will no longer be able to edit files that Vegas has open.
