Little Help...? Vegas Movie Studio Platinum
I'm on a Mac w/ FCP and it works nicely for me, but an old co-worker of mine is looking to get some basic video software.
Pretty much he has some exported HDV files from Final Cut and a PC laptop. I was recommending that he look into Vegas Movie Studio Platinum since it looked like a good deal at under $100 to recut his demo reel to put onto DVD, and have the option to cut some home videos too. Anyone here have experience w/ Vegas Movie Studio? Good buy or not worth it? Thanks!

The Movie Studio products are an excellent buy. They are VERY powerful for the price. Naturally they're not as powerful as the pro version but they're significantly cheaper as well. There's a chart on the Sony site showing the differences between the Movie Studio and Pro versions.

Zach,
If he is just doing it to rework his demo reel, I recommend him downloading the demo versions. It's free-30days. Buy it later. Hate to see him waste that kind of money if he is just using it this one time. He can download the manuals from the sony site as well. Download the manuals, get familiar, then d/l the demo version. |
