Hiding Identity
O.K., how do you do it?
How do you obscure the identity of something you shot that you don't want the viewer to make out (like a persons face, product name, or private part that made it on camera)? |

Use the cookie cutter to punch a hole in what you want to blur. In the track above/below, apply gaussian blur. You need to right click the track column on the left and select "duplicate track". Or you can super-impose a black box or whatever. |

Thanks Glenn,
That worked perfectly. Now I can show by sons, yes twins, birth video to my friends. |

You could always superimpose a leaf too.

You know Glenn, I thought about doing something funny like that. The leaf is a great idea.
In this instance, I am trying to make it as subtle as possible. After I finish all the prep work of covering up all the money shots, I'll finally get down to the fun part of editing the birth. I will be using the music from Apollo 13 since there was quite a bit of drama that took place. Baby 'A' came out fast but Baby 'B' flipped around and after twenty six minutes came out feet first (Tom Hanks, "Good Morning Houston! It's good seeing you again."). Any other creative techniques you come up with, pass them along. |

Robert,
I think that even if you obscure your sons' faces, that people will be able to figure out who they are (with them coming out of your wife and all). Gary |

This procedure is fully documented in my newsletter. Just read the article titled Blurring Faces Ala "Cops". You might find some other useful information in the other issues as well.

Hey Ed:
Can you post a link for that? I am navigating around your site but am having trouble locating "Blurring Faces." I FOUND IT! Volume 1 issue 12. Thanks
