Try disconnecting the Mackie Controller.

It worked Edward !! I removed the Mackie Control in the MIDI section and the FX Buttons work fine. Are you aware of any issues with the Mackie Control and Vegas? I am using operating system 2.1.2 of the Mackie Control which is the latest. Thanks, Ray |

I am not aware of any specific issues with the Mackie controller. In fact, it is one that is specifically supported. The reason I suggested that was your error message was referencing the the mackie controller as causing the error. Perhaps DSE would have more advice as he has actually used a mackie controller.

Do you think I should try experimenting with the Mackie Control assigned on different MIDI channels? I ahd it assigned to MIDI Channel 3 when the error happened. Ray |

I'm really unsure as I've never used one. Sure wouldn't hurt to try, though.

Well I ended up re-formatting my computer (it needed it anyways) and everything works fine now.
