Deinterlacing Pictures on Vegas 5.0

Hello there,

I'd like to capture some shots from my movies as .jpg or .png.

Bottom line: the results I'm getting are no good. Can't get it done the right way. So tell me, is there a way to deinterlace these captured pics? How can I get it done?

Thank You,
Gus

There's an option under Vegas to automatically deinterlace still image captures.

Also you can take your interlaced still grab into photoshop and run the deinterlace filter on it.

Best way would be to grab one of the scripts that captures snapshots. If you wish to do it manually, change the preview to Best (Full), change the project properties to Progressive. Then take the snapshot.

Edward isn't there an option under Vegas Capture to automatically deinterlace still captures?

Yes there is. But that won't affect getting a snapshot in Vegas - only in Vidcap.

That's what he's trying to do right- take still shots FROM his footage.

Hmm.... I was assuming "FROM" his footage after adding the captured footage to the timeline. If not, I stand corrected.

Ahh then maybe I'm mistaken. See I thought that setting under Vegas Capture to "automatically deinterlace still captures" to be the "still captures" you do from footage on the timeline.

No. That option would ONLY affect snapshots taken directly from the TAPE while in the capture program.

Gustavo:

Just curious; were you taking stills during capture or from the timeline in Vegas?

From Vegas Timeline. I have a shot several minutes, from where I wish to take a "picture".

I'm sorry if I sound confusing in first place, but english is not me native language, and sometimes it gets hard to express myself.

Kindest Regards,
Gustavo
