Final Cut Upgrade vs Sony's solution
The FCP upgrade out...How come Vegas does not match Apples integration? With FCP, you're getting a few integrated packages. Sony Vegas has TWO seperate products with a few others that are also available, Sound Forge, encore etc.
I'm not complaining. We love Vegas~ Will the Sony Guys ever package a total integrated Studio production package ala Apple, Adobe Avid etc. The whole codec issue needs to resolved fast too... Who else wants to see an Integrated Sony Vegas Pro Package..?

Sorry if I wrote my previous post hastily... I really am not a complainer. Just ready for Sony to do some BIG company things with Vegas....
Avchd, P2 issues...."the Panasonic we won't let you use our top secret stuff in your editing software...." Package- Why not sell a complete package? Look at the FCP toolkit and they have an immense amout of tools to work with.

As for Packages, In FCP you export to compressor to compress. In Vegas it's built-in. In FCP you export to Color to do your grading. In Vegas it's built-in. In FCP you export to ProTools to do your sound editing. In Vegas, it's built-in. In FCP you export to DVD Studio to cut DVDs, in Vegas you export to DVDA... same thing. Now, as for doing "big company things", Vegas has made tremendous strides in this area. Particularly with the latest 9.0 release. The ability to import/export DPX/EXR files is tremendous. And darn few NLEs can drop a RED R3D file straight onto the timeline and begin working. With Vegas you can. Few editing programs can work in 32 bit float mode. Vegas can. Vegas has offered a 64bit editor for a few years now. How about FCP? Now this is not to say that Vegas is better than FCP (or Avid, or Premiere), but they each have their strengths and weaknesses. It really depends on what you're after. Frankly, for the price, Vegas is astounding. It's half the cost of FCS and less than 1/4 the cost of Avid Media Composer, and does a credible job for most uses.
