Vegas Pro 8 Freezes on Startup
I'm having this strange problem that just started occurring out of nowhere. As Vegas loads it goes through all of the processes normally, then right as "Creating Windows" appears, the program locks up completely and either I have to restart or wait patiently for task manager to come up and kill the process. I haven't made any major changes to my system lately both relating to hardware or software.
I've tried: -uninstalling my anti-virus software -running CCleaner to correct any registry errors -disabling any programs running currently. Not really sure of what else to try. Any help is much appreciated. |

Could Vegas be trying to load a corrupt .veg file at start up?
Whatever the last .veg was that was loaded when Vegas was working, move it somewhere else so Vegas can't find it when starting. If it starts up OK, there's your problem. If it still hangs, you could also try starting up Vegas while holding Ctrl-Shift (which fires it up with factory defaults). Good luck. Ian . . . |
