Alternative soundtracks in DVDA
I'm not a frequent or experienced DVDA user but I need to put together a DVD of a theatre production which I shot a couple of weeks ago in the Live Room at Twickenham Stadium. It's not my usual line of work, but needs must in this economy!
I took a feed of the band from the sound desk and it is almost pristine (i.e. no audience sound or the sound of the performers singing). I would like to add a 'karaoke' soundtrack of just the band that can be user selected. I'd also like to add subtitles of the lyrics that are displayed whenever the alternative soundtrack is played. I believe DVDA is capable of handling this but I'm not sitting in front of it at the moment so I can't confirm. If it is possible, does anyone know of any tutorials that might give me an idea of the process? Many thanks. Ian . . . |

Yes, it is possible. Just look in the help file. It will tell you how to add a secondary audio track, how to add a sub-title track, and how to add a button to turn them on/off.

Ah yes, Edward, you are quite right of course. Too simple to have been concerned about! My doubt was actually based on an old review of an earlier version of DVDA (3, perhaps?)which said words along the lines of 'DVDA is great if you don't want multiple audio tracks'.
Clearly this has been addressed. Thanks, as ever, for the guidance. Ian . . . |
