Problem with DVDA 5.0
Running DVDA 5.0b and up until yesterday I had no problems. Then all of a sudden today I go to start it up and get this error:
The application could not start. The default them wasn't found. Please reinstall the application. Error Code: 0x80004005, Startup code: 26. I tried reinstalling and nothing. I tried completely uninstalling and nothing. Same error every time. Has anyone else had this problem or have any suggestions? Thanks, Garrett |

What if you do a system restore back a couple of days?

Thanks Edward,
I tried that and it didn't work. It's keeping something in my registry no matter what that is not allowing it to find the default theme. I think I may have to try uninstalling it and manually removing all entries related to DVDA. Pain.... |

Have you installed anything new lately?
Have you run a virus/spyware//malware scan lately? |

In addition to what Mike said, what about registry cleaners?

Thanks guys,
That's the weird thing. I haven't installed any new programs. Went through an update to Vista (which probably what threw everything off) and updated my video card driver. I did revert back to an earlier config and it didn't help. I have run all the spyware, reg cleaning, virus and malware programs I have. Here's the really weird thing. After removing DVDA Pro 5.0 I went back and installed DVDA 4.5. It worked and no problems. So I do the upgrade to DVDA Pro 5.0 and try to start up the program. The error is back...very strange. I'm sure something with the latest Vista update did something to my system. Another odd thing is now my Outlook 2007 won't open my web browser when I click on a link in an email message. You gotta love Bill Gates....Shouldn't Gates be a four letter word??? Thanks again and any further ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Garrett |
