Foot pedal?

Does anyone use a foot pedal for editing - or for anything?

I use a foot pedal to drive - two actually... go AND stop! :-)

Exactly what would you use the foot pedal to do?

actually that would be rather neat. I've even got a usb one here I use for autocue. I'm not sure how to reprogramme it, but could be an alternative way instead of spacebar?

Their normal use is for transcription, but the primary use I'm thinking of is autocue/teleprompter control. If I get one I may as well think about using it with other programs. At the moment I'm using a mouse to control my teleprompter program but would like to free up my hands.

What make do you have? Is it a three pedal job? If so what are the pedals controlling? How do you find using it for autocue?

The one below is apparently programmable. I can't seem to find out if others brands are:
