How do I "spaghetti western-ize" footage in Vegas?
Using Vegas 8, here's my problem...
I've been given footage originaly shot on 4:3, then somewhere along the way, cropped to 16:9, letterboxed, saved as 4:3, but as a widescreen format (or something) so that it improperly streched too wide. I need to squish it so that people return to their normal widths. I've tried all the project settings, but that's not the problem, since it's the footage itself that was stretched then resaved. I can't find the right tool in Pan/Crop (though I'm no expert) to squish the footage horizontaly. Can anyone help? Thanks!

in pan/crop before you squish those poor folks ;-) unlock the 'keep aspect ratio' button and you should be able to squish awat

I was unchecking the "Lock Aspect Ratio" button on the left button bar of the Pan/Crop screen... which is why I couldn't do it. Thanks Don!
