Rendering to an AVI File.

I need to save a Vegas 8 project as an AVI file.
The only way I can see to do this is, "Selectively Pre-render" & this gives you the ability to do this as an AVI. - In Premiere you can simply "save as" an AVI.
My real question is , where is this file placed as it doesn't give you the choice of "saving in", so where do I find it ? Is it in the projects file ?

It is still rendering so I cannot check but thought it best to ask.

Uhhh. File--> Render As----then you get the render as window...

There's a drop-down tab that says "save as type"

"Video For Windows .avi" is 4th from the bottom.

Then pick your template...etc etc.

No problem.

I was a longtime Premiere user who converted to Vegas because a job required it, and now I love Vegas a lot. I don't think you can beat that interface once you get over the initial shock :)

Wow Jeremiah you must be a night owl, I've just done a job on the car,
(it's about 5-40 PM here in Sydney), & just come back. Yes your'e right about Premiere, when I go back to it, it feels clunky !
Cheers,
