Is Windows seeing the camera? If windows sees the camera then Vegas will see it.

If Windows sees the camera but Vegas does not see it, then you might try Vegas 8.0c for capture. I've heard of many different issues with Vegas 8.1, but capture issues I've not heard about.

Windows can see the camera Jeff, I can find it under other devices in device manager, (with a small question mark beside it) not where it was in Windows XP (under my disks) when I open vegas I cannot access the camera at this location, any help appreciated.
Thanks

If it is showing up in Device Manager with a question mark that means a driver for it is not installed which means this is a camera/windows issue. I don't know where you would find a driver for your camera, but it is probably on a disc that came with your camera, or you might try the Sony site.

Someone who has a similar camera in the XD cam forum might have an answer for you faster.
