Is Windows seeing the camera? If windows sees the camera then Vegas will see it.
If Windows sees the camera but Vegas does not see it, then you might try Vegas 8.0c for capture. I've heard of many different issues with Vegas 8.1, but capture issues I've not heard about. |

If it is showing up in Device Manager with a question mark that means a driver for it is not installed which means this is a camera/windows issue. I don't know where you would find a driver for your camera, but it is probably on a disc that came with your camera, or you might try the Sony site.
Someone who has a similar camera in the XD cam forum might have an answer for you faster. Sony XDCAM HD CineAlta - The Digital Video Information Network |
