Yes. Read my newsletter. I talk about the settings I use and give a bitrate chart.

Mark, I see you're from Orlando. You going to be there on May 21st? I'm working on getting an informal get-together of Vegas users on that day. I'll be arriving in Orlando that afternoon.

Photo Montage Zoom? Ken Burns Effect

Is Vegas The only NLE that can do the zooming into pictures? I have not been able to find any info on other programs able to do this. One guy told me vegas did it easier than other progams.

What is the best product to learn vegas 4.0 throughly? Ive played with the demo. Some things come easy others look like a difficult task. I want something where its not really basic but also not talking about things Ive never heard of. Can anyone help me?

A good way to do your first steps in vegas is to have a look at this thread http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthrea...threadid=20830 and print the quick reference guide.

I would do multiple things. First READ THE MANUAL - that's always a good first step. You can also look at my newsletters http://www.jetdv.com/tts especially at the "Beginner's Corner" sections. Douglas Spotted Eagle has both a book and DVD training set. Gary Kleiner has a DVD training set. And, of course, are forums such as this one.

Vegas does it very easily. I explain how to do it in detail in Vol. 1 Issue #8 of my newsletter http://www.jetdv.com/tts. Other NLE's CAN also do it, however.

Yes, click on Extract Audio from CD. Below the big white area in the middle is a drop down box. It should list both drives.

Pretty much all the prosumer and up NLE's can do the Ken Burnn's effect---Vegas, in my mind is the most functional in this regard.
