PAL HD 1440 to SD PAL Widescreen

I’ve been shooting PAL HD 1440 x 1080 (m2ts) and want to render projects to a DV PAL Widescreen (720x576) file format to create DVD’s in DVDA (DVD Architect 4.5). I’m struggling with the fact that renders end up with narrow black pillar box edges on the left and right hand sides of the render. I can render without the black lines but not in a file format DVDA will accept for DV PAL Widescreen. I’d love to get ride of them.

I guessing its doable but can’t for the life of me find the right combination of Project and Render setting (Vegas Platinum 9.0) to remove these pillar boxes. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Make sure "stretch video to fill output frame" is ticked, it's at the bottom of the render template window.

Paul.
