Saving FX preset
I am about to reinstall OS and Vegas, and I have a customized FX setting I want to save to have available in my next installation of Vegas. How is this done?

This is where Preset Manager comes in very handy - and Sony makes it available for free :-)

NOTE: For VIDEO effect presets, you must create a "CHAIN" in order for the preset manager to see it. The chain can then be transferred to another machine. However, it's an extremely manual process to go through the entire process.
