Hour Long Videos
Each week we're rendering out an hour long program to WMV. We could upload the files to our own webspace but are concerned about possible bandwidth issues. Any thoughts on a good place designed to host full hour videos?

I use Vimeo.

Nothing wrong with Vimeo, of course. The free services are outstanding in many ways.
A paid hosting service offers different capabilities, such as, being able to design your own player layouts, embed on your pages without opening up embedding to others, assuring that your content only appears on your page, metrics... For wmv, actual WM server hosting that enables quicker startup&play, also auto-negotiation of the stream bandwidth when using multibitrate files. And I'm sure other benefits. Of course they cost money. Check out playstream.com. |

Well, we host with a WM Server also, but I wouldn't do that if I were concerned with bandwidth issues. That's why I suggested Vimeo. Of course, there are a variety of solutions out there.

I have a specialized script I use to help automate the entire editing process. After the editing is complete, I just push a button which renders to various formats including WMV. Flash isn't an option for rendering out of Vegas which would add another step to the process. This way it's possible to just upload the file and be done.
