I'm enthusiastic for AVC h.264 from the DVD Architect transcoder, but not AVCHD in Vegas which limits the bit rates and frame rates that will be accepted by DVD Architect without re-encoding.

Those of you who like AVCHD in Vegas Pro 8c, can you tell me if it would work okay with my HF100 on an AMD Dual Core 5400+ with 3Gb ram? I'm fine with a little stutter in the preview window as long as it doesn't take forever. Do you guys think my set up is okay?

By the way, I used to use Corel Videostudio X2 and it produced great quality with no transcoding BUT it created stutters between edits in the footage. (This is a widely reported bug, not a problem with my system). I assume this doesn't happen with Vegas Pro 8c output? Thanks.
