Track Motion Trouble...
I had this working great a few days ago. I am doing picture in picture. Now when I go into the track motion editor and look at the video preview, the smaller box is not moving in the preview screen while I move it in the track motion screen. I don't think I am doig things any differently.
Any ideas as to what could cause the preview display to not 'track' with the track motion display? thanks, brian |

In that case I bet you have selected on of the 2 "worst enemy & best friend" buttons.
(I'm relating to "ripple edit" and "Sync cursor") If you check in the motion track window you will most probaly find that there is a track pip already and your cursor (in the track motion window) is to the left side of it. Try deleting all pips and click on the "sync cursor" button. By that your track motion cursor and timeline cursor always match up. Before you leave the track motion window click it again to de-activate the little devil again. It can be a PITA if you forget about it. |

There's another possibility, and that is that you are moving the glow or shadow offset box rather than the actual PinP.
At the bottom of the track motion window you'll find a keyframe controller with three layers, Position, 2D Shadow and 2D Glow. By default, it's Position that's selected (and highlighted). If you select either of the others the display changes to show the offset of the glow or shadow to the main frame, which then becomes the active box (so you can change the position of the shadow or glow). I suspect you have inadvertently selected one of the others. Note that even if they are not being used they can still be selected and moved, which can be deceiving as it won't have any effect on what you see in the preview window. |
