Video distortion with MP4 import
Hi.
Just a quick question about importing MP4 footgae to Vegas pro 8. I use Keepvid.com to download youtube videos and they download as MP4 for high qaulity. They play perfectly fine on my computers : vista ultimate 64 service pack one and XP Pro. Once I put the footage into Vegas the visual qaulity distorts into red flickers across the footage, it all breaks up and jumps ( sorry for the non technical terms ) during the preview stage. The audio remains perfect. I downloaded the vista codec packs for video and audio, yet no change. I wish to use a clip in my video and the owner does not have a copy anymore, only the copy on YouTube. Is there any other codecs / settings I may be missing??. Thanks guys |

Matthew, you're not going to like me but I just dropped a bunch of MP4s (some that I created myself and some that I downloaded & converted for my daughter's iPod) on my Vegas Pro 8 timeline and didn't have any problems.
If it helps, I use the free utility from DVDVideosoft.com to do the YouTube conversions for me. |
