M2T's causing Vegas Crash?

I was about half way through editing a project whose deadline is approaching. (of course) and I noticed an audio drop out. When I zoomed in to see the audio drop out, last 20mins or so of the two M2T files in the timeline turned red and I got the following Exception:

Does anyone have any ideas about this one? I might try to render the M2T's out to AVI's and replace the M2T's on the timeline so maybe I won't have to re-sync (three camera live shoot) and re cut the first half.

Thanks!

Been there, done that, (to Cineform AVI), it works.

You might be greatly helped by the new-ish M2T plugin available from Sony for beta testing. It is designed to help with just this problem, and has been giving mostly good user experience. Check out this thread on the Sony forum.

Look for a moderator post in the middle of the testing thread posted 7/7/2008 that contains the ftp links. This plugin is in beta/user testing and is not part of current product downloads.

Follow the instructions, rename your existing plugin .old or something and pop that new one in. It seems to be working well for me.

Thanks for the quick reply, I'll give that plugin a shot.

(and I see you're in PDX so howdy from 25mi down the road) :)

I'm happy to report that the replacement DLL did the trick.

Thanks again...

Thanks for the link to the DLL plug-in. I was having this same problem this morning and now it works great.
Now the question arises.
If there are fixes to the Vegas Pro 8, are you able to download from the sonycreativesoftware site?
I know you can re-download the program from the website, but it asks you to first remove the program before installing, and I was hesitant.

Bill, I've never been asked to remove an existing version of Vegas before doing an update.
The new version installs over what's on my computer.

Bill, the updates on the website simply install over the original version - there's no need to uninstall. For Vegas Pro, the current version is 8.0b. If you're not on 8.0b, you may wish to update to that. The new DLL was released after 8.0b. Version 8.0c is supposed to be released "this summer".

I'll have to check the program version when I get back, downloaded from the web 2 months ago. What a blast it's been editing with Vegas, and it's getting easier. I think it may be Vista telling me to remove the program before reinstalling...
Again thanks for the advice on the plug-in.
