FX7 footage vs PD and VX
The project I'm working on has been giving me fits for a couple of weeks....Vegas is freezing up as I edit, and after it seems to catch up, it is fine again for a few minutes.
I assumed it was a hardware issue, so I replaced my OS drive twice, did extensive testing of and reformatted the scratch and storage drives, and yet the problems persists. Could this problem be because I am using SD footage from an FX7 mixed with footage from older Sony cams? Anyone have this problem? I've had the problem on XP and Vista 64 bit as well, since I've tried it out with both OSs to see if that was the issue...it's not. I will know more when project is finished and I move on to the next project that does not have this mixture, but for now I am really vexed. I've been using Vegas for a few years, and never had this issue except in a couple of instances where I had a bad hard drive. |

By "SD Footage", may we assume you captured from the FX7 as a standard DV-AVI file? If yes, that would NOT be the issue. It should easily handle the multiple DV files.

I don't understand it....this is really slowing me down, but I'll live with it for now, I have no other ideas, except for changing out my OS drive again, which I'm not keen to do.
