Premiere prevents vegas install?
You guys know about software that excludes their competitors. Has anyone tried installing Vegas on a system that has Premiere pro installed, or Premiere recently uninstalled? I wonder if the premiere installation will block the vegas install.

it will not, i have Vegas Pro and CS3 installed on two PCs and a laptop, and I used to have both installed since Vegas 4 and premiere 6 I believe.
Are you getting any errors during install, or your Windows is screwd up? |

I've been around the block, software-wise, and I have never come across any major piece of software that will outright block a competitors product being installed. There are some dodgy practices, sure, but this would surely be illegal.
Why would any company want to do that anyway? They would be screamed into oblivion! It's not exactly a vote winner, whichever product you prefer! |

I've got the entire CS3 Production Suite installed right alongside of Vegas and often have them both open and running fine at the same time.
I seriously doubt Adobe would jeopardize their reputation by doing something like this. Besides, they're arrogant enough to believe there probably aren't any other NLE's out there worth blocking. :) |
