Cropping high def to DV footage?

I was just curious is anyone has cropped HD footage to make it DV footage - ie; getting rid of microphones in the shoot by mistake, light stands etc? I hope that makes sense...

Yes you can use keyframes and create what looks like a multicam shoot from just one camera. Focus of the original HDV is VERY critical and of course don't zoom more than down to the resolution of DV or about 4:1 zoom. Keep pans really slow. I have done this a couple of times when only had my FX1 on hand for a shoot of an event.
