Vegas "print to tape" question
Ok, my next goal in my project is to get a digibeta master, so I did some research and post production facilities charge around $250/hour or like $1600 if I bring in my files in an external hard drive, so I have been thinking...
Is it possible to I rent a digibeta deck (Sony J-30 for $150/day) and transfer it myself? If possible what would be the workflow for that? just trying to save some bucks... Thanks |

We just had our feature, which I delivered in JPEG2000 Quicktime format at 720P, on a hard drive, transferred to tape. We had it printed to D-5, HDCam, DigiBeta (2 copies), and Beta SP (2 copies). The total bill was about $1800. And worth every penny. We used one of the very well known, established post-production houses in Hollywood. Don't try to do something like this on the cheap; it will come back to haunt you, from our experience. |

We used Encore Hollywood and were very happy with them.
http://www.encorehollywood.com/ I've also been referred to Lightning Media for this kind of job: http://lightning-media.com/lightningmedia.php Good luck. |
