Peak Building taking too long...
Should peak building take 10+ minutes on a 60 minute HD MPEG? I have 3GBRAM with a Q6600 quad core.
I used to import 60-90 minute mpeg files (sd) and it would only take 2-3 minutes MAX...does HD make that much of a difference concerning peaks?

I'm not trying to be an ass here; this is a sincere question:
Do you NEED the peaks built every time you open the program? On my longer projects, I would just tell it cancel when it started trying to build the peaks, and start editing, only building the peaks when I was messing with sound-related stuff. Furthermore, you can make it build at any time with a keyboard command. When you do that, it should only build what's currently visible in your timeline. |

I'm guessing it's totally file dependent. Files that require Vegas to use a slower reader would build more slowly than those that can use a faster reader.
