saving as a Vegas project file or as an AAF file
Hello,
I'm producing my first film and I'm doing a rough cut but maybe somebody will do the final editing on a different software. Maybe FCP. Should I save my project as a Vegas File, or should I save it as an AAF file? If I save it as a Vegas File anybody working with a different NLE won't be able to jump in, correct? What are the inconvenient and advantages of saving in AAF? If I save in AAF, can I still work in in in VEGAS? Better should I save in one of the Cineform codec for HDV? ( footage is from a Canon XH-a1) Can the cineform codec be opened by a guy working in FCP if I encoded with Vegas? Thanks Larry |

I know for fact that ONLY Vegas can read .veg files.
Go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanced_Authoring_Format I have never used .AAF, but when it comes to reading, sounds like you are able to save in a format for cross-platforms. If Vegas can create the .AAF, surley it can use it for editing again. If you are unsure, save in both formats, one .AAF for your partner, one .VEG for you.. |
