HVX slomo blues

Hi all,

I shot a 50p clip with the intention of overcranking. The problem I'm having with the footage is that I didn't shoot it in 25pn, so it's not automatically playing those 50 frames over 2 seconds. When I put the clip on a 25p timeline and set a velocity envelope to 50%, every 2nd frame is duplicated. That confused me, so I changed the timeline to 50p - again every 2nd frame was a duplicate. I converted to avi with cineform to bring into Vegas.

Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong and if there's a solution?

It is acting like you don't have 50p source. If you are sure you have 50p sources, you convert again in HDLink and set the frame rate change to "-50%" -- the control is listed as "60p to 30p", but that will also convert 50p to 25p.

Thanks David.

Yep, definately a 50p clip (properties everywhere confirm this). I tried your trick, same stuttery result. Very confusing. If it was a 25 frame clip, I would have expected Vegas to have combined frames to make the in between frame (technical jargon :)), instead its displaying a duplicate frame. Oh well, look like I'll have to move on.
