Digi-Beta
Wasn't sure where to post this, but since I edit with Vegas thought it may be ok here.
Was considering submitting a mvoie to film festivals and some require formats for screening like Digi-Beta and Beta SP. I shot on miniDV and wasn't sure how to convert to these formats or whether I need to pay someone to do it for me. Can Vegas do this? |

Hi Dan
Not sure what you mean by 'convert'. The formats you mention are professional media. I think its half inch tape. So unless you have a recorder to record these professional tapes, you cannot. I think the original beta tape cassettes were compatable with betamax recorders, but not beta SP or digi beta. Looks like you will have to send to somebody with the equipment (recorder) to record in Beta Sp or Digi Beta. Pascal |

Hey Dan, what you need to do is print to DV tape and take it to a post-production or dubbing facility and have them dub tape-to-tape. It should run between $100 - $500, dependingon the facility and the format. Our Beta SP dubs have usually cost us around $150.
