How to...?
Hello,
I'm not sure if this is the correct thread for this, but I will give it a shot. I'm trying to shoot some chroma-key video and wanted to know how to display the video that will be displayed in the chroma-key area while recording. For example, lets say i'm shooting s object/person in front of a green screen and I want to see the image or video that will be replacing the green screen while I'm recording? I think the big news and sports studios do this. If there is a better thread for this please excuse. Thanks, Troy |

Don't know where this belongs.
You'd want to use a hardware chromakeyer. Ultimatte makes several. You'll find them spendy. Some cheap (and most expensive) switchers also can do a chroma key. Usually you'll want to record your key "clean" (green background) to preserve options in post. Don't forget you'll also need some video source for the screen content. |

You know, there is one method using Adobe Ultra that comes with the CS3 production suite. It will give you a preview of a key. I've never used this function because I don't haul my editing system to the studio, but it might be worth checking out.
Depending on your application, that is. It's good for a check on cutting the key, and will allow you to plug in at least a static background... I'm not sure if it moves. I have it here and could run a quick test if it seems promising. |
