Vegas 7.0d + M2T
Hey all. I have an hour long M2T file that I was going to start editing with Vegas. I had done much shorter (less than five minutes) videos before and hadn't had any difficulties.
This time, when I drop the hour+ m2t onto the timeline, it goes up there and looks fine at first, but as soon as I do something, the timeline except for the first minute of the video turns red. The sound is still there. Also, even though it's over an hour long, Vegas says that it's a little over twenty minutes long. I can play the entire hour+ clip using VLC media player just fine. It looks and sounds great, but Vegas is choking on it. Any ideas? My machine has 2 gigs of RAM, and is a 3ghz dual core. It currently has about 40 gigs of hd space free. Any ideas? Thanks! JR |

Just wanted to bump. I downloaded the trial of Vegas 8 pro and attempted to load the same hour+ .m2t file into the timeline and the same exact thing happened. The timeline except for the first minute turned red. What does red on the timeline signify? I couldn't find anything in the documentation.
Thanks! |

Try first to cut your video to smaller scenes. If it is HDV-stream you can use for example the free HDVSplit.
For any further help, it would be beneficial if you'd tell more about your setup (which camera, capture app, capture settings, etc). |
