drop out in mxf files - avi 1080-50I 4:3??!!

Hello all

I shoot with the Sony PDWF350L camera, and edit in Vegas 7. No problems. However when I come to rendering an mxf file, I keep getting a kind of 'drop out' effect in the clips but only where I had fades and dissolves in the project. The rest is fine. ??? Anyone else out there had a similar problem? When I render out the same edit as a pal dv widesdcreen file for DVD there are no issues.

Also, does anyone know why after rendering a mxf project as a avi 1080-50i file it comes out as 4:3 everytime?? and not in its widescreen glory?

Thanks as ever
