What does IMX mean?

It was a format developed by Sony broadcast as a digital replacement for Betacam SP a number of years ago.
Wikipedia has a brief blurb on it as does this site.

Thanks Mike for the links.
When using a widescreen template with Vegas and my Sony Z1, which template setting should I use, IMX widescreen or Standard widescreen.

Cheers
Simon

Simon, if it was me, I'd stick to standard widescreen as neither the Vegas manual, the online help or the Knowledgebase are much help about IMX.
