Rendering Video for set output size
Hello all. I am transferring several home movies for a friend that are on 8mm tape and several are slightly longer than 2 hours. Is there a way with Vegas to set a desired output size of 4.5GB as an MPEG2 so that they will fit on a single disc? I know that quality will suffer, but I need to be able to do this. Thanks for any help.

If you render to 4.5 gig, it won't fit on a DVD (try 4.38 gig or smaller!)
Use a bitrate calculator or chart to tell you the bitrate you need for the length of the video. I have a chart in vol 1 #7 of my newsletters and you can find many free calculators on the internet.

You could also export to avi and then let your DVD creation software transcode and size it automatically......
