V8:Crash, Crash and more crash at DVinfo.net

Hi guys,

I have been working on a project in V8 for hours and it has crashed 4 times. I am not even using the titler. When I start sliding, trimming, or clicking on a clip on the timeline, V8 crashes. No warning. CRASH!

I encounter crashing in V7 sparingly. It would occassional occur when I hit the undo button. So, before I hit it I would just save project.

I wonder if this has to do with the srewy QT software. I have been having trouble with QT on this computer for awhile. The QT file would play in Vegas or IE browser. And yes I have uninstalled, reinstalled, updated, tried alternate QT, but nothing seem to work.

BTW, the project that has V8 crashing is not using QT clips. What's going on?

Here are the stats on my computer:

Gateway 836 GM
Win XP Media Center Edition V. 2002 SP2
Pentium (R) D CPU 2.8 Ghz
1 GB Ram

Plenty of HD space.

Last- Someone mention earlier post:

"Everyone, try the dynamic RAM to 0MB and rendering threads to 1 trick before you uninstall. If it still crashes, then Vegas 8 sure is buggy. "

What does this mean and/or how do I do it?

Another thing I did recently was install an updated version of VASST Ultimate 2 for V8. I am working on another project that requires multicam and I like the multicam function in Ult2. I know V8 has a multicam function, but I am not that familiar with it yet. Could it be Ultimate 2 that is causing it to crash?

Did you update to 8.0a?

Yes. I currently have V8.0a.
