Vegas Says "Preview is turned off"
I'm considering using Vegas for video editing, so I downloaded the trial and I simply can't get Vegas Video Capture 6.0 to capture any video!
When I connect my camera, a Canon HV 20, to my computer it either says "Preview is turned off" where the video is supposed to be. If connecting it with the camera mode, I can however control the camera and the video. If switcing to play-mode right after using camera mode I'm still able to control the camera, but the video is missing (black screen) I also downloaded a trial of Premiere CS 3 and it is doing something similar. I can record video with Windows Movie Maker, however. HDVSplit works sometimes, but crashes after a couple of minutes. I'm not sure what to do here. Could somebody guide me in the right direction? I've been trying to get this to work for hours, to no avail. My computer: Core Duo T7300, 2 gb ram, Windows Vista, Geforce 8600m gt |

I'm not sure that this sounds like the problem but most cameras have a setting in one of their menus that switches the firewire to DV out. Mine says AV>DV. That needs to be activated.
