Project media "use count" wacky?
One thing drives me crazy... I can't understand why a couple of pictures (JPEG) displays -2 in use acount - Project Media.
Others sounds, pictures, clips, displays right use count (i.e. 1 or 2)... How many times the media has been used, shall be shown in use count. But what does -2 means ? |

You mean NEGATIVE 2? I've never seen the count go negative. It should show the number of times that media is on the timeline. For example, if you add a video clip, it will jump to TWO - one for the video and one for the audio.

Yes, i'm afraid i mean a negative number (-2).
I am confused. "I've never seen the count go negative. It should show the number of times that media is on the timeline." I agree, hoped there where an answer.... |

I have never seen a negative number, but I have noticed that if you create a subclip the usage count goes a bit weird.
Example: - Add a wav file to the project media pool. Use count 1. - Split it in two places - - - Use count 3. - Remove one segment - - - Use count 2. So far, so good. BUT: - Create subclip from one segment - - - Use count (of original wav) 4. WHY? - Delete original wav from timeline (so only the subclip remains) - - - Use count (of original wav) 3. WHY?? - Delete subclip from timeline (so there is nothing on the timeline) - - - Use count (of original wav) 1. WHAAAA??? It's early (for me) and maybe I haven't quite become fully conscious, but something seems amiss! |
