Can anyone compare Vegas to the Ulead software?

Hello all. I have been using a Trial version of Ulead Video Studio 11+. Now the trial is about up and I'm going to try the trial version of Vegas 8 to see how I like it.

Has anyone here used both of these programs? Any thoughts?

thanks,
Lowell

If you want to get up to speed fairly quick, you might try looking at the "beginner's corner" articles in my newsletters.

I haven't used Ulead so I can't give an actual comparison.

Hi Lowell,

In my opinion and I strongly believe that the to render out from HDV to DVD Ulead Movie Video Plus 11 does a much better job than Sony Vegas. The way I do it I edit everything in Vegas7 and then I get an AVI from Vegas, import it to Ulead and then make my DVD. MUCH better quality than Vegas try it!!

Thanks Ed and Matthew for the input.

Ed,
this will sound really dumb, butI can;t find the "beginers corner".

Matthew,

That seems to be what I have read about both. That ulead seems to render better but vegas is a better editing software. the thing that stinks is I was hoping to be able to do ever thing that i need to do with only one software.

thanks
Lowell

Go to the "Newsletter Archives" section and start going through each issue. The first "Beginner's Corner" article is in the 4th issue and continues through almost all of the following issues.
