rendering .WMV files
Two projects, same length, one .wmv file is 20MB, the other is 14MB...I'm using the same settings...anyone have a clue? Can content of a clip affect size?

If you are using variable bit rate, the more motion you have, the higher the file size will be.............I think :)

My understanding is that content can effect output size as the compression typically uses a form of delta'ing, comparing one frame with the next: the more that changes, the more that needs to be written out.

Thanks guys, I have found amazingly little on this in a couple of quick attempts at googling for info.
I was rendering at quality VBR rate, then tried the others and found that Bit Rate VBR (peak) is comparable in quality, and a bit smaller in file size. A 2min file I rendered today was 75% larger than another with the same settings though...amazing. |
