Vegas 8 primer available?

Has anyone happened to put together a primer for newbies to Vegas 8? I've used 7.0e to do 1 import of HDV off my Canon HV20. Everything was shot 60i on the tape, so I just set the project to HDV 60i changed nothing else. I don't even know if I set that up properly.

Now I have Vegas Pro 8.0. All I really want to do is the following

1) Import my 60i HV20 footage to the computer
2) Burn all the footage, as-is, to DVD
3) Tape some clips of footage and downcovert to a "youtube" friendly size so I can distribute on my website to family.

Regarding the Vegas 8 primer, VASST has a Vegas 8 update training DVD that's due to ship this week. Here it is:

You can also download the manual from Sony...

I read the whole thing, but you should be able to find just the things your interested in doing with the index.

Is the VASST order site confusing just to me? I've been trying to order Vegas 8 primer by filling out all the requested information but there is no slot for filling in the payment details -- it just says place order and nothing happens. Any suggestions?

Strange. I ordered the Vegas 8 Primer yesterday and had no problems. Once you submit all the information, other than the payment details, you're directed to VeriSign to provide payment info. It sounds like didn't get redirected.

Not just that, but later much later in the day (or was it the next day?) I tried ordering again. This time I got a different quote for shipment payments ($ 13 instead of the previous $ 11) and when I went to the cash register (again, without ever being asked my credit card numbers) the total quoted was this time twice the amount, leaving me to believe that my first order was registered but not processed. I have to wonder whether I'm going to get 2 DVDs without ever paying for them, or, more likely, none -- without ever being asked to pay for one.

I didn't think $ 20 is worth the quibble... (unless the DVD will be a dud).

Bob, since you've purchased other volumes in the past, you're supposed to automatically get the $20 discount.
I know I did when I ordered it yesterday.
