Vegas 8 Trial Crashing On Launch - Vista
Hello,
I've just installed the trial version of Vegas 8 Pro on my Vista Ultimate (32-bit) system. Disappointingly, when I launch it, it comes up with the splash screen and then crashes. It gets as far as "Creating file I/O manager...". I tried running in XP compatibility mode but it didn't help. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks. Disillusioned, John. |

Update:
On my same computer, I have installed the software on: XP Pro SP2 XP x64* Vista Ultimate 64-bit It works just fine on those. So it's either a specific Vista 32-bit thing and/or due to all the development stuff I have on there. So, at least I can try it! John. * Installation on XP x64 wasn't straightforward. Setup wanted to install x86 and x64 versions of .NET 3.0. Since trying to install the x86 version fails, Vegas setup failed. I installed x64 .NET 3.0 manually and tried again. It worked.
