Vegas Platiinum Studio 8 DVI Preview Monitor Settings
I am trying to use a DVI LCD panel for external preview. When I select preview it shows up on both monitors. I am using a Dell Inspiron M90 with nVidia graphics card. Any ideas on a setting I may have missed?

"It" meaning your external monitor shows the same content as your primary monitor?
If so, you need to go into the Displays control panel, select the Settings tab, highlight the blue box with the 2 on it (representing the external display), and check Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor. The above is if Windows is managing the monitor. If nVidia is managing it, you'll need to open the nVidia controls and do roughly the same thing, but probably will have a settings wizard available. If this isn't the problem, please tell us what you see on the second monitor. |

Thanks for the reply Seth.
When I select preview the video plays full screen on both monitors. I found this in the help files: "Select the Display frames in Video Preview window during playback check box if you want to preview on the secondary monitor and in the Vegas Video Preview window simultaneously. When the check box is cleared, video is sent only to the secondary monitor." This may be the check box I overlooked. Thanks |
