Media going offline then crashes

Im trying to edit my home videos from Hawaii and the media keeps going offline . If I get to a point if I try to render and I pick the place to render to it says a bunch of clips offline. If I do anything it crashes. My preview is also freezing or running low FPS.

I went on vacation and cant get it to work right now.

I un-installed E and went back to D but it does the same thing.

Im have 3gb of ram but it only is using about 1.5gb .

This is the the last error I got befor it crashed.

Not clean uninstall

Hi,
had similar problem - mediamanager was looking for a offline media library and refused to start or re-install.

The uninstall does *not* delete the pref files when uninstalling, they are still in the

Document and Settings / [user] /Application Data / Sony / Media Manager

folder. You have to manually remove that folder after uninstalling , and possibly clean your registry with (the very useful) tune-up utilities from
http://www.tune-up.com/

I had the same problem, and boy it's annoying when you know Vegas normally works so well!

In the end I discovered that it was because some of the rushes I imported into Project Media were suspect. On one of my tapes I'd forgotten to hit the Return button to respool the tape when turning the camera on after a break. I ended up with 2 or 3 seconds of what was last on the tape which was SD and not HD which the project was!

I had to re digitise the footage and not let NEO see the format blurp change by pausing and spooling forward past it! Since eliminating the format change from my rushes all is ok! So maybe there's something on your rushes which is upsetting Vegas.?

Try looking through your rushes on a monitor before importing into Vegas, keep your eyes on the timecode for jumps or anything else which may cause an error like this.

Delete everything you've put in so far and redigitise from scratch. It might be worth a try.? It took me ages to find out what it was!

Good luck!

I just finished editing my video but I had to endure 17 crashes. I will try that next time when it does it again.
