Network Rendering Service ERROR
I'd like to use non-distributed network rendering on two PC's, networked via a Gigabit switch.
I'm working on the PC named COBRA, and would like to render on the PC named XPS410, which shows up in the Renderers list as 'Ready'. [btw What is the difference between Host and Owner?] I select a region, hit 'Render As', select the folder, input the file name, select 'Render Loop Region Only', and 'Render Using Networked Computers' then hit 'Save'. Up pops the Network Render dialog box, where I do not select 'Distribute Rendering' but do select XPX410 from the Render Host dropdown box, then select OK. Nothing happens and the effort fails with this message: Error: Render job '169.254.118.56.53704/1 failed. The requested address is not valid in its context.' The URL 169.254.118.54 is the address of COBRA, not XPS410. Any ideas? |

Scott, it's been so long since I've set ours up, I've honestly forgotten how...but I do recall this coming up and we had to modify the network properties on the client machines. Hopefully someone else can pop in here, but didn't want you to think no one was listening...even if I don't have the answer.
