Separate video from audio
How do I separate the video from the audio in a single event.

Click the "Ignore Event Grouping" icon (shortcut is CTRL + Shift + U).
Remember to click it after the operation so it doesn't mess you up later on. |

Alternately, you can simply press "U" to "Ungroup" them.

When I want to audition, explore and CHOOSE away from the timeline, I do this within Trimmer. This ways I DON'T forget to re-group and get meself confuzzed with outta whack-sync work! I can select and elect JUST to move up to the main TL the audio I want. Now, this MAY not be the case here for you, but DO experiment with Trimmer. Trimmer - use it, it is our "other" timeline-friend. Grazie |
