24P questions
I have been thinking about getting a HV-20 and I was wondering do you just shoot 24P then edit and render to a 24P format ?
Do SD dvd's in 24P play fine in all DVD players ? |

Joey:
24p is in HDV mode only. So if you want to preserve 24p capability, you will be shooting in HDV in a 60i stream. To create a true 24p file, you will need to convert in a pull down removal process with appropriate program or programs. I use NeoHDV from Cineform, which creates an intermediate editing format file in 24p. It is easier and frame accurate for editing purposes, though it takes up for space on your hard drive. Once you edit, you can output the footage to any format in 24p...

Thanks Chris.
So does it take twice as long to make a video in 24P ? You have to render to cineforn then edit in Vegas and render ? If you make a 24P HDV video can you render it down to SD in 24P ? Thanks Joey |
