How do find wedding business?
Hi, I got into this business 18 months ago. I've put a lot of time into web sites, some other marketing avenues, etc.. But I'm curious to what some of you find as the best ways to market yourselfs, or the best channels to get business? We partnered with a local bridal shop, and advertised in their mag, (full page add), but suprisingly got hardly any business from it. We did a bridal show, and again that was very flat.

Back in the day when I used to do wedding video, we did two things that brought in more business than we could handle. First, we ran a simple Yellow Pages ad in the local phone book with listings under Wedding Supplies & Services as well as Video Production Services. Second, we partnered with a well-known local photographer who was constantly in demand for weddings (in fact our businesses shared the same studio space, so it was a pretty tight relationship).

If you can at all, partner with a photographer. My wife opened her own studio 2 years ago, and since then my business has tripled.

Good suggestions, neither of which I've done yet.
