iRiver 899 - which plug for Giant Squid?

Hi all. I just purchased an iRiver 899 off of ebay. Now I need to get a Giant Squid mic and I know that I need to get the special iRiver omni mono. But which plug do I need? I can't tell where the plug is on the iRiver from pictures, on the side or on the top. Can someone who has one let me know? I haven't searched these forums for about an hour now and can't find anything. I need to decide whether I want the straight plug or the right-angled plug. Thanks!

Both should work fine, though the connection is at the top of the unit. The mic I use with my iRivers has a angled plug.

I bought the 90 degree plugs with mine, which I think works better.

i've had both types at one point, and yeah the right-angle one is slightly better, and certainly not so protruding in a groom's pocket (ok that sounds REALLY wrong :)

remember to put record mode as line-in, not ext-mic...

I have that exact model iriver, and the right angle plug mic from Giant Squid. With the 899, it's better than the straight one.

I'm sure you'll be happy with it. Giant Squid makes great mics.
